For many Service children, our choir becomes a place of belonging. It is somewhere they can connect with others who understand the unique experiences of Service life, develop resilience, and flourish through music.

90 Minutes of Expert Tuition Every Week

This equates to almost 60 hours of high-quality music tuition every year, delivered by experienced music educators.

Learn from Outstanding Musicians

Ben Noble

Ben is a highly skilled baritone, accomplished music director and qualified teacher with Enhanced DBS clearance. As musical director of several local ensembles, he brings a wealth of expertise and enthusiasm to every rehearsal.

Ben works directly with our young people to develop:

  • Singing technique

  • Musical understanding

  • Performance skills

  • Self-confidence

  • Teamwork and leadership

Liz Latta

Liz brings more than 30 years of educational and musical experience. With a background in primary education and exceptional musicianship across multiple instruments, she inspires children to develop their musical talents both within rehearsals and during informal learning opportunities.

Many choir members enjoy additional guidance from Liz at the piano before sessions and during breaks, helping them gain confidence in instrumental skills and music reading.

Performing develops communication skills, confidence, teamwork and resilience while giving children a genuine sense of pride and achievement.

What do your fees pay for?

We are proud to operate as a not-for-profit organisation focused on delivering the best possible experience for our children.

Most of our wider support team are volunteers who are DBS checked, trained chaperones and highly experienced in supporting children and young people.

Your fees directly fund weekly music sessions and performance opportunities throughout the year.

Our annual operating costs are approximately £12,000 per year, which covers:

Venue Hire

This includes our regular rehearsal space and performance venue costs

Booking and Payment Systems

We use GoCardless and KidsClub HQ to provide safe and secure systems for parents

Transport Costs

For travel outside of our local area such as our annual trip to Alnwick

Insurance

To protect our members and our equipment both during rehearsals and performances

Uniform

Whilst parents can purchase individual items such as t-shirts and hoodies we also ensure we have a full set of performance only uniform

Admin

Safeguarding responsibilities and performance licensing

Teaching Costs

We pay for the services of two specialist music teachers to work with our children and to prepare them for performances

Membership is:

£36 per month

Additional siblings receive a 25% discount, reducing the monthly fee to £27 per month.

We also work hard to fundraise throughout the year to:

  • Provide additional experiences

  • Subsidise special opportunities

  • Establish hardship support where needed

  • Keep choir membership accessible for families
